But on these I'm just using a flip flop. A regular needle will go through the rubber. You just have to wear a thimble and two rubber finger grips to grab the needle.
I'm putting shoe inserts inside. I am trying to sew these with embroidery thread (6 strand), but it isn't working so well. I need upholstery thread or two layers of buttonhole thread.
But I see red polka dots and navy stripes this summer!
