Black Beauty and the Circle of Dots

The bust decreases are done and am on to waist decreases. It's moving along pretty painlessly.

Now, on the life issue - Bob and I were discussing the day's challenges, and he said, "You know, I used to always say, 'If I can just get....things will be good,' or 'If I can just do....things will be good.'" And I said, "But now you know it's just until the next pile of @#$% comes along?" He said, "Yeah. It took me 62 years to figure that out." So in the spirit of "don't sweat the small stuff" and "enjoy the moment," I sat back and sipped a glass of Cabernet and played with Black Beauty a bit. Somebody once told me to think of life as a large circle made up of teeny tiny little dots and whatever challenge you're facing, remember, it's just a little bitsy blip in the circle of life and soon it'll be nothing but a memory.

I like the "life is like a circle" idea - much better than the "box of chocolates" bullshit.

A wise man once told me that you'd better be sure to make your own joy, because the crap will find you all by itself. at least you'll have guaranteed some good stuff by making it happen yourself. Anything else is gravy.

So, I think the glass of wine and some time spent doing something you like that will also make someone else happy is double positive karma.

Reminds me of the Bruce Springstein song, "Glory Days." We don't always know what our glory days are - what we think is bad, might look very different in hindsight.

Ms. Holly is right! The crap will find us. We can't control that. All we can control is how we react. If it can't kill ya, sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa or take a brisk walk and ponder your possible reactions.

That thing about something that appears really bad might look better in hindsight....well, when I was in my 20's someone took a pic of me - 5x7 B&W at a baseball game I was playing in. They caught me offguard. I remember them giving it to me, me thinking it was the ugliest picture I'd ever seen in my entire born days, and stuffing it in a drawer somewhere. I came across it one day and now it graces my family room wall! Now I think it just might be one of the best pictures ever taken of me.
